Appointed the jury for the Ermanno Olmi Award 2024, intended to promote and enhance short films by Italian and foreign directors under 30.
Chiara Cremaschi (screenwriter and director), Rossana Galimi (PhD student), Massimo Lastrucci (film critic and journalist), Elisabetta Olmi (producer) e Stefano P. Testa (director), have been appointed as the jury of the sixth edition of the Ermanno Olmi Award, established to promote short films by young directors.
The winners’ announcement will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024, at the movie theater Lo Schermo Bianco in Bergamo.
THE JURY
Chiara Cremaschi (Bergamo, 1968)
She holds a degree in Filmology and trained in documentary filmmaking at Ateliers Varan. Several times a finalist at the Solinas Award, three times she was awarded a Special Mention. In 1998, she won the Best Screenplay Award from Rai International. Her films have been selected in festivals around the world, receiving mentions and awards. She is a trainer in film schools and leads workshops in the most diverse contexts, especially those where cinema does not reach.
Rossana Galimi (Udine, 1997)
She is a PhD student in co-tutorship in Philosophy and Human Sciences at the University of Milan, and in Film and Television Studies at the University of Warwick (UK). Her main research interests concern the construction of female identity in genre cinema and contemporary media. She is a member of the editorial board of the scholarly journal Cinéma & Cie and occasionally collaborates with Cineforum web.
Massimo Lastrucci (Milano, 1955)
After graduating from high school in science, a degree in theater organization and criticism from the Piccolo Teatro school, studies in philosophy and a formative radio experience in a free radio station, he began writing reviews for the Manifesto. He became a professional journalist and joined the editorial staff of Ciak in May 1985. He has also written in other magazines and various publications, including books, particularly on westerns and Roman Polanski. Since 2022 he has been a regular contributor to Cineforum.
Elisabetta Olmi (Milano, 1965)
She specialised in film production as an organiser and executive producer, collaborating with important directors. After joining the Ipotesi Cinema school, she produced fiction features, including his father Ermanno Olmi’s films Centochiodi (2007), Il Villaggio di cartone (2011) and Torneranno i prati (2014), for which he received the Ciak d’oro and the Franco Cristaldi Award at the Bari International Film Festival as best producer. He has received nominations and awards at the David di Donatello and the Nastro d’argento.
Stefano P. Testa (Bergamo, 1988)
He is a director, editor and film post production technician. He collaborates with Lab 80 film in the production of documentary films and with Bergamo Film Meeting in the field of audiovisual communication. His films are united by the exploration of family dynamics, represented through the use of amateur, archive or found footage. In addition to two feature films, he directed Caro Mostro (16‘, 2023) and De Occulta Imagine (16’, 2024), which were presented at over thirty international festivals, receiving numerous awards.
